Typosquatting
Typosquatting is registering a domain with a typo in a brand name. The goal is to catch customers who make a mistake when they type the address.
Updated October 12, 2026
The domain looks almost the same as yours. It has an extra or missing letter, a letter from a nearby key, rn instead of m, or .co instead of .com. A customer makes a typo and lands on someone else's site. In this example, the site sends them to a competitor through an affiliate link.
Such a domain can also host a copy of your site with a login page. The customer is sure they are on your site and gives away what they came with. In iGaming, it is a deposit. In crypto, it is a login and wallet access. In fintech, it is card details and documents. Sometimes the domain is empty: someone is holding it for later.
How we find it
Such a domain is often not in Google. Nobody searches for it. People land on it by mistake. So we check variants of your name ourselves: typos, nearby keys, similar letters. We also check your name with the words login, bonus or app, and the same name on .net instead of .com.
Certificates
We detect a new certificate with your name within minutes of issue.
New domains
We detect a new domain with your name within a day of registration.
Empty domain
We watch it until a site or email appears on it.
How we take it down
If a domain hosts a copy of your site or a phishing page, the hosting provider takes the site down in 24 hours or more. The registrar suspends the domain within 2 weeks. If the domain is empty, we get it transferred to you through UDRP in about 2 months. UDRP is a domain dispute process without going to court.
